A pneumatic vibrator is an air-driven unit that generates controlled vibration, used to compact concrete and to restore the flow of material bridging in hoppers, bins, chutes and silos. Vikay supplies vibrators from India in the class corresponding to the Chicago Pneumatic CP 2190.
Vibrators do two very different jobs with the same principle. In concrete work, vibration releases entrapped air so the mix consolidates around reinforcement and against formwork, which is what determines finished strength and surface quality. In bulk handling, vibration breaks the arch or rathole that forms when damp or fine material bridges above a hopper outlet.
Air operation matters in both cases: the unit can be mounted permanently on a hopper wall and switched with the discharge valve, or moved around a pour without a cable, and it will not overheat on continuous duty.
Typical applications are concrete compaction in formwork and precast moulds, hopper and bin flow aids, chute and silo discharge, and screening and conveying assistance.

Can it be permanently mounted?
- Yes. Bin and hopper vibrators are normally bolted to the vessel wall near the outlet and switched with the discharge, rather than moved between uses.
