Sump Pump
A pneumatic sump pump is an air-driven pump that runs fully submerged to remove water from excavations, sumps and mine workings. Vikay supplies sump pumps from India in the classes corresponding to Chicago Pneumatic CP 0010 and CP 0020.
Putting an electric pump in a flooded excavation means cable, isolation and an earth-leakage risk that many sites will not accept. An air-operated pump removes all of that: the only service running into the water is a hose, and the exhaust vents through the discharge.
These pumps run submerged, tolerate silt and grit, and can be stopped and started simply by shutting the air valve. Because they cannot burn out when run dry or dead-headed, they suit intermittent duty where a sump refills unpredictably.
Typical duties are excavation and foundation dewatering, sump clearing, shaft and tunnel work, and any wet working already served by plant air.

Why use an air operated sump pump instead of an electric one?
