Hand Drill
A pneumatic hand drill, or rotary hammer, is a compressed-air tool that drills anchor, dowel and blast holes in concrete and rock. Vikay supplies hand drills from India in the classes corresponding to Atlas Copco TEX 05P, TEX 09PS and DKR 36 and Chicago Pneumatic CP 9 and CP 14 RR.
Air-driven hand drills are used where electric tools are impractical: wet ground, confined spaces, potentially flammable atmospheres, and any site already reticulated with compressed air. They tolerate stalling and duty cycles that would burn out an electric motor.
Typical duties are anchor and dowel holes, rebar dowelling, light
rock drilling, dowel bar retrofit and shallow blast holes.
The range covers the classes corresponding to the Atlas Copco TEX 05P and TEX 09PS, the DKR 36 and DKR 36R combi drills, and the Chicago Pneumatic CP 0009A, CP 0009B, CP 0009C, CP 0009CS and CP 0014 RR, with the Vikay VK 9B and VK 14RR built to interchange with the CP 9 and CP 14 RR classes.

Why choose a pneumatic hand drill over an electric one?
- Because it tolerates wet conditions, dust, stalling and continuous duty without overheating, and needs no electrical supply or isolation on site. Where compressed air is already reticulated, it is also the simpler installation.
What is a combi drill?
- A tool that can be switched between rotary-only drilling and rotary-percussive hammer drilling, so one machine covers both drilling in masonry and light breaking. The DKR 36 is a combi drill of this type.
