A mucking loader is an underground machine that loads blasted rock, carries it and discharges it in one cycle. The Vikay VK 310, equivalent to the Atlas Copco Cavo 310, is a tyre-mounted pneumatic loader and transport unit operated by one person.
Mucking is the bottleneck in any small underground operation, and a combined loader-hauler removes the need for a separate loading machine and tramming fleet. The VK 310 scoops the muck pile, carries the load to the chute or tip, and discharges it under air power, so the whole cycle is handled by a single operator and a single machine.
It runs on tyre wheels rather than rail, which allows it to work off-track in drives, ramps and development headings. The unloading air cylinder is sized for consistent, repeatable tipping into chutes and ore passes.
The VK 310 is dimensionally equivalent to the Atlas Copco Cavo 310, so operators already running that machine can standardise on one parts holding. Aftermarket spares including traction gearboxes, air controls, dumping cylinders and rim sets are listed under Atlas Copco Cavo 310 parts.
