Construction air tools are compressed-air powered tools used for breaking, chipping, drilling, tamping and dewatering on construction and demolition sites. What air pressure and flow do these tools need?
- Most hand-held pneumatic breakers and chipping hammers are rated for around 6 bar (85-90 psi) at the tool. Air consumption varies by model and is stated on each product page so you can size the compressor correctly.
What is the difference between a paving breaker and a chipping hammer?
- A paving breaker is a heavy vertical-use tool for breaking road surfaces, concrete slabs and rock. A chipping hammer is a lighter tool used one- or two-handed for dressing concrete, removing weld slag and foundry cleaning.
Can I use my existing moil and chisel points?
- Yes, provided the shank size and retainer match. Standard round and hex shank points in 9 to 30 inch lengths are stocked under Mining Equipment Accessories.
