Pusher Legs
A pusher leg is a telescopic pneumatic cylinder that carries the weight of a hand-held rock drill and applies controlled feed force to the bit. Vikay supplies pusher legs from India in the classes corresponding to Atlas Copco BMT 51, BMK 62SA2, ALF 71 and ALF 72D.
The pusher leg is what turns a heavy hand-held drill into a one-operator machine. Air pressure in the leg extends it against the floor, holding the drill on line and pressing the bit into the rock while the operator only steers. Feed pressure is regulated separately from percussion, so the operator can back off on broken ground and load up in hard rock.
Leg choice is set by drill weight, hole direction and the reach needed at the face. Vikay supplies legs matching the Atlas Copco BMT 51, BMK 62SA2, ALF 71 and ALF 72D classes, fitting standard drill mountings so a leg can be replaced without changing the drill.
