Paving Breaker
A paving breaker is a heavy hand-held pneumatic hammer used vertically to break road surfaces, concrete slabs, foundations and rock. Vikay supplies paving breakers from India in the classes corresponding to Atlas Copco TEX and RTEX and Chicago Pneumatic CP 111 THLA and CP 112.
Breaker selection is a weight decision. Lighter breakers around 15 kg suit thin slabs, screed and confined work where the operator has to reposition constantly. The 25 to 30 kg class is the general-purpose road and slab tool. Breakers above 35 kg deliver the impact energy needed for thick reinforced concrete, mass foundations and rock, at the cost of operator fatigue and access.
The range corresponds to the Atlas Copco RTEX 15, RTEX 25 and RTEX 35, the TEX 21 PE, TEX 33 PE, TEX 37, TEX 40 PE, TEX 150 PE, TEX 190 PE and TEX 230 PE, and the Chicago Pneumatic CP 111 THLA and CP 112.

What size paving breaker do I need?

What air supply does a paving breaker need?
- Typically around 6 bar at the tool. Air consumption rises with breaker weight, so size the compressor against the largest tool you intend to run, and against the number running at once.

- Standard moil and chisel points in the matching shank form and retainer, available in 9 to 30 inch lengths in round and hex shank.
